Aim 1
Phylogenetic Framework

​We propose to assemble a comprehensive phylogenomic data set for ants that incorporates all major lineages.

Aim 2
​Biogeography/Diversification

With the global phylogeny in hand, we will conduct a detailed analysis of the biogeographic and diversification history of the family Formicidae.​

Aim 3
Niche Evolution

A third objective will be to correlate the biogeographic and diversification history of ants with morphological and climatic attributes.
